Increasing protein intake with age is generally considered good advice, Tim. Aging is typically associated with decreased sensitivity to AAs, combined with greater resistance when they're received at the 'muscle'. AFAIK, there isn't research on the effects of timing in older adults, but mechanistically-speaking it would follow that timing may be more relevant.
