“Someone who is overweight might have to train harder and get technically “fitter” to achieve the same VO₂max as a lighter person. This is all a bit speculative, of course.” I mean it depends are we talking relative vo2max or maximal vo2max? As a big and too often heavy guy one is much harder than the other! Also I just wrote a short piece speculating on Amp-k driven longevity. Love to hear your take on it.
Love this! It highlights what a lot of us in healthcare have known for a while - BMI and bodyweight in general are far from the only markers of health.
This is interesting in the era of ozempic etc. Great that people are losing weight, but that’s not all there is. If only there was a vo2max pill for those patients.
