Hi Brady! I was explaining the study to my wife and she asked what were the carbs provided? I said it was liquid-based beverages. Is that accurate? How would you define carbs, generally? (My wife is has gradually running after injury and while she’s increasing protein intake she’s also curious about carbs.) Thanks!
You're correct that in this study the small amount of carbohydrates in the low-carb group were provided via liquid-based beverages but some also came from whole-foods (especially in the high-carb group).
Carbohydrates generally are things like bread, starchy vegetables, sugar from fruit, whole grain rice/pasta, etc.

Got it. Wasn’t sure if in these instances “carbs” are different than what we just normally eat. Hope you had a good weekend!
